QUESTION: I am interested in purchasing the VH-90 RK. I have a quadricycle that weighs about 275 lbs and it appears that ATV/Go-Kart carrier with the ramp option is the way to go. I just want to make sure that the rails are adjustable to the wheelbase of the quadricycle which is 42″ and I would like to know how much it costs with shipping to Santa Fe, NM?

ANSWER: The rail adjust independently along the 50 inch main tube. They can be adjusted together or fully apart. A wheelbase of 42 is not problem.  We sell through dealers and the shipping is generally a fixed price. The item you want is VH-90 RO. The VH-90 RK is only the loading ramps. QUESTION: I have a 2011 Honda PCX, 125cc. Please tell me which versahaul is best suited for hauling. Definitely want one with ramp.

ANSWER: The VH-55 is dimensionally long enough to carry your bike. You may want a longer 6 foot long VersaHaul SPORT bike Ramp Kit (VH-SPORT RK) because of the low clearance of your motorcycle. Make sure that you have the suspension and hitch rating to carry the bike. Details are on www.versahaul.com

QUESTION: I wanted to double check a recommendation on which trailer to get. I’ve got a Range Rover Sport with a Class III hitch, tongue weight is 550 lbs recommended. I’m planning to carry my Moto Guzzi Norge Sport bike, also weighs 550 lbs. Which trailer (single) are you recommending in this scenario?

ANSWER: The VH-SPORT RO is the carrier for you bike.

Yet, your suspension on the Range Rover is likely not going to be able to carry this load. You’ll need air shocks (air bags) if you want the use the Range Rover. I calculate that around a 220 lb bike is the max you can carry with your suspension and have the vehicle frame stay level, Unless you have autoride air suspension or stiffer suspension.

QUESTION: What’s the weight of the VH-55 RO? I have a Honda scooter called Forza with a curb weight of 422 Lbs and a class 3 hitch limited to 500 Lbs. With straps etc its seems I might be over 500Lbs limit? Got another recommendation?

ANSWER: The VH-55 RO ships in two boxes or 78 lbs and 17 lbs. I don’t have exact weights be there is likely more than 6 lbs of shipping material. You’ll likely be over the hitch capacity of 500 lbs.

The other concern will be the Suspension of your vehicle. Unless you have a large vehicle the suspension will be maxed out. I have a chart on www.versahaul.com with guidelines for this carrier. http://www.versahaul.com/vh55ro.php look under limitations and find your vehicle

REPLY: ….I carry a scooter on top of my class three hitch on the back of my motorhome so no issues with vehicle. Limits are Scooter curb weight and carrier weight plus straps. Is the net weight of the VH-55 RO really 89 or 82 pounds?

Can you recommend a carrier rack 78 pounds fit for a rear engine scooter?

ANSWER REPLY: ….If you a scooter with a long wheel base then you will need a VH-SPORT RO.

The VH-55 RO is not long enough for long rear engine scooters like the Helix, Reflex, Majestic, Gold Wing, and Burgman scooters. You should buy the VH-SPORT RO.

QUESTION: What size hitch does the versahaul take?

ANSWER: Depending what model you are looking at, but the VH-55 RO and VH-SPORT motorcycle carriers take a class III or IV 2″ x 2″ square receiver.

The VH-MS mobility scooter model will work on Class II 1 1/4″ x 1 1/4″ square or the Class III 2″ x 2″ square.
