QUESTION: Are the receivers on the back of the motorcycle carriers strong enough to handle one hundred pounds of tongue weight from a bicycle carrier and bicycles?

ANSWER: Yes, you just do not want to exceed the total carrying capacity of the carrier. If the carrier is rated at 500lbs and your bike is 300 lbs then you will have 200 lbs of tongue weight remaining behind the carrier.  However your vehicle’s hitch and suspension may limit your to a lesser amount.

QUESTION: I have a large pop up camper. I also have a 150cc scooter. Can I attach your carrier to the back of my pop up camper? Give me details on price shipped to central Minnesota.

ANSWER: Versahaul does not recommend attaching the versahaul to the back of a trail.  The trailer will become back loaded and the the trailer will violently fishtail.

The VH-55 RO carrier has a 71.5″ long rail and a 500 lbs carrying capacity. This carrier has a towing feature behind it as well. If you have 300 lbs on top of the carrier then you will have 200 lbs of tongue weight remaining behind the carrier to tow. Hope this helps. You can purchase the product from our internet dealers or from a Versahaul dealer in your area http://www.versahaul.com/dealers.php

The VH-55 RO MSRP is  $503 with the carrier shipped to you in Minnesota.

QUESTION: How much is the VH-55 RO? Does it come with the straps? I have a 12 honda pilot. would that fit? I have a Ducati 848 EVO. My bike is 450 lbs. Can the carrier hold my 450 lb bike?

ANSWER: The Pilot suspension is rated between 250 and 300 lbs carrying capacity with the VH-55 RO. You may need a suspension enhancement device like a helper spring or air ride air spring for this vehicle. The weight of the Motorcycle may weigh down the back of the vehicle.  Air ride suspension can fix this. If you have the suspension, then you may consider the VH-SPORT RO.  The sportbike carrier has a wider and longer loading ramp and a wider and longer rail for street bike tires.

QUESTION: I have 2009 Suzuki Hayabusa (570 lbs) Will your hitch fit on my 2002 vw passat w a 2″ UHaul hitch?

ANSWER: The VW Passat can only carry a very small amount of weight on the suspension. The VersaHaul will not work for your application.  Do not attempt this on your car! The Hayabusa also likely has tires wider than the VH-Sport at 7-7/8″ wide, which is our widest carrier. So, this is not a good fit.

QUESTION: If the lower entrance edge of our receiver on the rear of our RV runs from 19 ” to 24″ from the ground, depending upon the level of the road, how well will your ramps work with the VH trike carrier? And, if our trike weighs approx 570 lbs, would you say the carrier will do the hauling job safely?

ANSWER: The carrier itself without the ramps will be around 150 lbs. The best way to move it if you do not have to people is to disassemble the carrier. Each one of the rails will slide off the main tube to allow for storage and moving the carrier easier. This carrier has a rail length of 71.5″ and a carrying capacity of 600 lbs
