Versahaul carriers’ compatibility depend on the type of vehicle and motorcycle. If you have concerns with the carrying capacity or the type of your vehicle, you may be able to answer your question by researching these cases we had with other customers.

QUESTION: Looking to purchase a ramp to carry my dirt bike to hook up to my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport. It’s weight is under 300 lbs. Looking at your max weight for the jeep it says around 160lbs is that correct?

ANSWER: The suspension of your vehicle is light.  You may want to use airbags.  Try putting 400 lbs on the back bumper and see if the bed tilts. Vehicle carrying capacity is the weight limit a listed vehicle’s suspension can support level using a Versahaul. Exceeding the Vehicle carrying capacity may cause the vehicle to become backloaded and may become unsafe to drive. Use suspension enhancing devices such as air bags or auto leveling suspension to increase the carrying capacity. The weight of the Versahaul carrier has already been considered. If your vehicle is equipped with Autoride Suspension or air bags then you will be able to carry more than the carrying capacity.

QUESTION: Would you please recommend me the best product to carry an Triumph Tiger Explorer 2012, claimed curb weight is 586 lbs, wheelbase 60.2 in, front tire 110/80r19, back tire 150/70R17. My car is a Toyota Prado, similar to the Lexus GX-460.

ANSWER: The VH-SPORT RO is rated for 600 lbs. You will need to have a vehicle with a suspension rating and hitch rating to handle this load. The Lexus GX-460′s suspension is rated only for 200 lbs. You will need a heavy duty hitch, Class 4 will work best. Note: do not exceed your vehicle hitch rating.  Most Class III hitches are rated for 500 lbs. Vehicle carrying capacity is the weight limit a listed vehicle’s suspension can support level using a Versahaul. Exceeding the Vehicle carrying capacity may cause the vehicle to become backloaded and may become unsafe to drive. QUESTION: I have a 2001 Nissan Frontier Supercharged Crew Cab 4×4 Pickup. I can’t seem to find it in your list. Do you know which product I would need to get for a 2012 Honda Rebel (CMX250C)?

ANSWER: A 320 lb Honda Rebel 250 bike should do well on a VH-55 RO but if you might buy a bigger bike. You should go ahead and go for the VH-SPORT RO. I calculated that 2008 Nissan Titan New XE 4dr Crew Cab LB (5.6L *cyl 5A)  suspension can carry a 375 lb on the versahaul and the frame sit level stay level. This might be a similar truck.  If you can put 320 lb plus 80 lb on the bumper then you would know how it sits.

QUESTION: I’ve got a Range Rover Sport with a Class III hitch, tongue weight is 550 lbs recommended.  I’m planning to carry my Moto Guzzi Norge Sport bike that weighs 550 lbs.  Which trailer (single) do you recommend?

ANSWER: The VH-SPORT RO is the carrier for you bike. Yet, your suspension on the Range Rover is likely not going to be able to carry this load. You’ll need air shocks (air bags) if you want the use the Range Rover. I calculate that around a 220 lb bike is the max you can carry with your suspension and have the vehicle frame stay level, Unless you have autoride air suspension or stiffer suspension.
