QUESTION: Would it be possible to order the VH-SPORT RO carrier without the standard front wheel stop and get credit towards the new VH-CHOCK? If not, how can I buy one? I don’t see the new chock listed with dealers.

ANSWER: The carrier is already packaged, so ordering a carrier without the wheel stop is not possible. Any of the dealers can order the VH-CHOCK for you. It is a newer item, so some may not have it on their websites yet. The VH-CHOCK- $139.99 http://www.hitchcarriers.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=358&category_id=67&keyword=vh-chock&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1

QUESTION: Does this kit http://www.versahaul.com/vh-kit.php, allow me to go back and forth between one and two bikes? Is it designed to be just a one time change or can I reconfigure as my needs change every week. Week 1, I want to bring two bikes, week 2, only one.

ANSWER: The VH-Kit will let you convert your VH-55 RO single motorcycle carrier to a VH-55 DM RO double motorcycle carrier. The kit includes 1 additional rail, 1 wheel stop, and a longer main tube. You will use your current ramp and ramp tabs to mount to the carrier and the rear tie down tubes from current carrier will be placed on the additional rail. You will only have room for 1 set of tie down tubes per rail. If you want to only haul 1 bike then you can disassemble the carrier and go back to your current carrier.

QUESTION: I was just looking at the VH-070 HD and I think that the one I have is welded backwards to what you have. Mine doesn’t work with my receiver hitch and it is showing signs of fatigue. I can send pics if you want. The unit is about 4 years old…

ANSWER: It is not welded backwards. That is an older designed anti-tilt bracket. The new design does not have the flanges wrapping around the receiver hitch. The old design had the flanges wrapping around the receiver. However both design still do the job.  Both brackets must be used with the bolts on the bottom.  The bracket is designed to work with gravity. By installing the bracket, upside-down the bracket is working against gravity and lifting the weight of the carrier and motorcycle. This improper use can stretch the metal of the VH-070.

QUESTION: I have a single motorcycle carrier and was looking to adding the wheel chock accessory. I am not clear if the wheel chock back rotates up automatically to hold the motorcycle as it is loaded. When I roll my motorcycle onto rack do I have to manually lower and raise the chock for it to hold?

ANSWER: The wheel chock will rock closed as the front tire passes over. The chock is for larger tire bikes. Brakes on front tire scooters rub against the chock sides.

QUESTION: I just received my order. I have a trike scooter. How do I store my ramps as I travel? I received a bar and some supports but don’t believe they are meant for my set up. Can you help me?

ANSWER: The VH-Trike does not have a place to store the loading ramps on the carrier. The loading ramp will need to go in the truck. I sent you extra parts.  The bar and supports give you enough parts to set this carrier up as a VH-90 RO.  So this carrier can be used as an ATV/KART carrier if you choose. http://www.versahaul.com/vh90ro.php
